North Star. Originally two cottages converted to a pub in about 1858 and one of the oldest drinking establishments in Leytonstone Village Conservation Area. A warm and welcoming pub with very efficient bar staff, it is named after the brigantine in which the first landlord made his only sea voyage, between Hartlepool and India.
