Feb 20, 2016 · The White Lion is a pub in Covent Garden, London, on the corner of James Street and Floral Street. There has been a pub called the White Lion on the site since at least 1839,  and the current pub was rebuilt in 1888, as can be seen under the rampant lion at the top of the building.
The present building dates from 1888 but there has been a ‘White Lion’ on this site since 1237. Despite being in a busy tourist location the pub retains traditional high standards. Menu items include fish and chips, steak and kidney pie and the pub serves a fine range of ales.
At the heart of London’s Covent Garden district and close to the world-famous Royal Opera House, the White Lion serves well-loved British pub classics in a friendly atmosphere. A retreat from the bustle of the city, the pub dates back to Victorian times and is a favourite among musicians from the opera house.
